The Applecross Circuit

Start at Shieldaig Village,near Torridon, Wester Ross (park in main street). Choose a warm, clear sunny day and you will will never forget this route. This circuit is best done twice, once clockwise and once anti-clockwise (but not on the same day) as the views are magnificent but different in each direction. Distance - about 37 miles. Allow 5 hours plus stops, photographs and tea at The Flower Tunnel/Cafe, Applecross. Shops and Hotel in Shieldag.

 Leave Shieldaig and head South to Kishorn.
When you see Loch Kishorn, turn Right to follow the single track road up to the Bealach nam Bo
Just over the summit, a layby may be found with seating and views of Skye
Descend to Applecross village but turn Left at a significant right bend before the village proper to find the Flower Tunnel for refreshments
Return to road and turn Left
Turn Right at T-junction and follow road round Applecross Bay
 Follow road round the coast Northwards
The road eventually bears Eastwards with much ascent and reascent
Turn Left at T-junction and head North back to Shieldaig
You may be able to find cask-conditioned ale on return to Shieldaig
